Romans 3:22b-26,Believe in Jesus
Romans 3:22b-26 … for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
The greatest blessing anyone can receive in a lifetime comes when he or she believes in Jesus. Jesus is the grand theme of the bible. He is the way, the truth and the life. True blessing in life begins with Jesus. He must be the focus of our life. He is our Saviour appropriated by faith. This is the gist of Apostle Paul’s thought presented in this text.
This faith in Jesus is appropriated when we acknowledge Jesus for who He truly is. He made us – John declared in John 1:3-4 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. Jesus is the Giver of life. Our life is owed to Him. And the gift of eternal life is owed to Him too. He bought and brought eternal life to us by what He did on the cross.
Whenever we partake the Lord’s Supper, we remember this glorious work Jesus wrought on the cross for our redemption. We recall what Jesus did, how He intervened in our life enabling us to know Him and receive Him as Lord and Saviour. Indeed, God did not deal with us after our sins, but forgave our sins, when we come before Him with contrition of heart. We look forward to a glorious future when we shall see Him face to face. So great is that redemption described here. We cannot fully fathom its glory.
It all begins when we believe in Jesus. This must be the theme of our life daily. Believe in Jesus. This is salvation to the uttermost. Amen.
