2nd Anniversary Thanksgiving

On 28 January 2014, Blessed Hope Bible-Presbyterian Church (BHBPC) came into existence when registration approval was received from the Registrar of Societies of Singapore.

A small group first gathered to pray on 15 August 2013 at the Praise Chapel of the Salvation Army Building.

It was on 24 September 2013 that the application for registration of BHBPC was submitted. 127 days later, the Lord answered our prayer. We saw the good hand of God leading us.

On 17 November 2013, we began our first worship service at 3 pm in this rented Worship Centre. We are thankful to our great God for calling us to begin this gospel outpost.

We echo the words of the psalmist.

Psalm 100:4-5 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

We are reminded of the ministry of BHBPC clearly delineated in Article 3 of the church’s constitution:

The objects for which the church is established are:

  1. The salvation of souls.
  2. The edification of Christians through the teaching of God’s Word.
  3. The promotion of godly and biblical worship.
  4. The defence of “the faith which was once delivered unto the saints”.
  5. The establishment and extension of Christian missions and institutions for the furtherance of God’s Kingdom on earth.
  6. The promotion of Christian relief for the poor and needy.
  7. The strengthening of mutual fellowship, encouragement and unity among individual Bible-Presbyterian Churches and other Bible-believing churches of similar stand “for the Word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ” (Rev. 1:9).

May the Lord continue to sustain His work here in BHBPC and help us to serve Him through the proclamation of His inerrant, infallible and preserved Word to the salvation of souls and the strengthening of the faith of the saints.
