Lord’s Day, Vol. 4 No. 06
(1) 2nd Anniversary Thanksgiving Service
Thank God for gathering His people last Lord’s Day in thanksgiving on the occasion of Blessed Hope Bible-Presbyterian Church 2nd Anniversary.
Thank God for bringing Rev Dr Tow Siang Hwa, our Pastoral Advisor, to rejoice with us. Dr Tow led us in pastoral prayer.
Two years is a milestone in the life of an infant church. Thank God for keeping us and sustaining the work. The Lord enables us to hold prayer meetings and worship services week after week. Great is His Faithfulness. It is our prayer that the Lord will continue this good work for His glory till He comes.
The message “Great is Thy Faithfulness” was taken from Lamentations 3:22-27. The exhortation was that the church would:
a) Rejoice in God’s Unfailing Love (v22-24)
b) Rest in His Unfailing Goodness (v25-27)
May the Lord help us to love one another, to continue to be a witness for Him in this vicinity and beyond! Worship Him and seek Him in prayer. Meditate and study His Word daily.
Lamentations 3:25-26 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
“Waiting for God is not laziness. Waiting for God is not going to sleep. Waiting for God is not the abandonment of effort. Waiting for God means, first, activity under command; second, readiness for any new command that may come; third, the ability to do nothing until the command is given” (Campbell Morgan).
Isaiah 40:29-31 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
The Lord is good. As we wait upon Him, may He lead us through another fruitful year of service. All praise and honour unto Him.
(2) Lunar New Year Greetings
In this season of Lunar New Year celebration, many of us would be visiting relatives and friends. Pray that the Lord will help us to be witnesses of His goodness in our lives! The opportunity to share the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ is indeed precious.
1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
During this Lunar New Year, may we be ambassadors for Christ as we share tidings of great joy that there is peace, there is hope, and there is healing from the ravages of sin in Jesus Christ. Amen.
Yours lovingly,
Pastor Lek Aik Wee
