Romans 9:14-15, God Knows

Romans 9:14-15 (KJV) 14  What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

Is God unrighteous to choose Jacob over Esau and Isaac over Ishmael? The Apostle Paul is teaching us that He is not unjust to choose one over the other. God knows the beginning and the end. God’s people are to rest on the mystery of God’s wisdom which we may never understand. But we know that He knows what He is doing. And we submit ourselves to His sovereign will for He is God and we are not. We are to exercise faith in His infinite wisdom and goodness.

We can only marvel and submit ourselves to the sovereignty of God in ordering all things in our life for His own glory living by His grace daily.

This doctrine affords comfort: thy unworthiness may dismay thee, but remember that thy election depends not upon thy worthiness but upon the will of God. [Elnathan Parr, Draper’s Book of Quotations for the Christian World]

We count ourselves privileged to have the opportunity to receive salvation in Christ Jesus by His grace and have an eternal inheritance for us in heaven. May we use our time wisely to sow seeds of peace and kindness that bear fruits in eternity again by His grace! Amen.
