Romans 15:7, Receive Ye One Another
Romans 15:7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
Despite many differences with regard to choices of taste and preferences among believers, we should receive one another. A person should be received because Christ has received him. Christ has died for him. And therefore, he is precious in God’s sight. It brings glory and honour to God when we are willing to forbear and tolerate each others’ idiosyncrasies.
This brings peace and harmony to the body of Christ. Whatever may be these differences, may the brethren learn to overlook and accept one another. In the body of Christ, there are those of different social background coming together. All must learn to serve one another. Christ sets the example, He washed even the disciples’ feet. Yet He is the glorious Creator of the universe. Such humility!
The undergirding strength is the imbibing of Scripture in the believer’s life. This comes through consistent meditation of God’s Word and the willingness to obey the commands of God. Amen.
