Romans 15:17-20, Preach Where Christ was Not Named

Romans 15:17-20 I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God. 18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, 19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. 20 Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation.

The Apostle Paul was a pioneering missionary to the Gentiles. Because God called him, God also manifested His power to save through the mighty signs and wonders in the conversion of souls throughout the Roman Empire whenever he has set foot upon. Many churches were founded because the gospel was preached and men saved.

What a glorious work that God has done through His servant for the Gentiles were obedient by word and deed. This is indeed a commendable work for there was a deep-rooted change observed in the lives of these whom he ministered to. It attested to the veracity of God’s Word and its power to bless lives. He was happy to report spiritual progress because he has fully preached the gospel of Christ and the effectual power of the Spirit of God brought conversion and established the faith of these.

He was happy to report spiritual progress because he has fully preached the gospel of Christ and the effectual power of the Spirit of God brought conversion and established the faith of these. The Apostle Paul was sensitive to the calling, leading and prompting of the Holy Spirit that enabled him to accomplished God’s plan in the saving of souls. What a life well-lived! What a blessed life and yet we can see how he denied himself, take up the cross and followed His Master Christ. He sets for us an example of consecration and service! Amen.
