Romans 16:25-27, The Benediction
Romans 16:25-27 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: 27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen. Written to the Romans from Corinthus, and sent by Phebe servant of the church at Cenchrea.
The Apostle Paul gives praises and thanks to God through Jesus Christ at the close of this epistle for His gracious hand in establishing the faith of the the believers in Rome. The preaching of the word gives faith and faith establishes the believer through obedience to live a blessed life with God leading the way.
This epistle was written by the Apostle Paul from Corinth and it was hand carried by Phebe from the church at Cenchrea to the church in Rome.
The Apostle Paul has written at length to articulate the doctrine of salvation, sanctification and glorification that brings the truth to comfort and strengthen the hearts of both Jew and Gentile Christians. He wrote as a man under the full guidance of the Holy Spirit. He refers them to the Old Testament Scriptures and the culmination of it in the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ to heaven. What a glorious tribute to his Saviour, the only wise God to whom all glory and honour is due. Amen.
