1 Corinthians 3:11, No Other Foundation

1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Paul knows that the foundation of his faith is in Jesus Christ. This faith is real because he met the risen Christ, Jesus, on the road to Damascus. He is a witness to the resurrection life. Therefore, his teaching is based upon the truth of the resurrection life which he personally experienced.

From a persecutor of the church, he becomes her foremost champion. An impossible turn-around. He personally experiences the liberating power of God over sin and was transported to the heaven to behold the glories of heaven. He is fully convinced in his heart that Jesus Christ is the living God.

It is from this standpoint of truth that he gives a truthful witness. All who will believe experience the liberating power over sin and the promise of eternal life. This is a sure foundation that he recommends to us. May we take heed to the persuasion of God’s truth and receives its blessings.
