1 Corinthians 6:13-14, The Lord for the Body
1 Corinthians 6:13-14 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
The believer must understand that in the same manner which Jesus was raised from the dead, he shall be given a glorified body at the Lord’s returns. The body is not for immorality but for union with the Lord at His coming again. It is to be kept pure.
1 Corinthians 15:51-54 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
The believer must therefore possess his body with spiritual understanding. It is nourished and cherished for God’s glory and honour and not for uncleanness. May God help us to live in holiness for His honour and glory. Amen.
