1 Corinthians 8:6, One Lord Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
There is but one God. The mathematical representation of our God is not 1+1+1. For 1+1+1=3, rather its 1x1x1=1. One God manifesting Himself in three Persons – God the Father is God, God the Son is God and God the Holy Spirit is God.
1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Mind-boggling yet most blessed truth that we receive by faith.
This one God is the Creator of all things, out of whom are all things consist, from Him all things come into existence. In other words, without Him creating, nothing can exist! Hence, it makes us humble to understand that we owe our existence to our God!
And the manifestation of the invisible God is in the Person of His Son Jesus Christ, who is the Creator!
John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
By the Creative act of Jesus Christ are all things. And He is Saviour to all who put their trust in Him, in His finished work on the cross to bear all our sins. We are given eternal life and saved from the wrath of hell fire by Jesus Christ obedience to bear our sins upon the cross. Three days after Jesus died on the cross, He rose victorious from the dead, conquering sin and death for us. Hallelujah! What a debt we owe which we could not pay. What we can do is to express our gratitude towards Jesus by acknowledging Him as the Lord of our lives! May we be willing to love Him and obey His commandments for our blessings. May we take time to learn of Him through the diligent study of His Word. Amen.
