1 Corinthians 10:13, A Way to Escape

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

The Lord provides a way of escape for His people in every temptation. He will always provide for His people the escape route so that His people might be saved from the pitfalls of sin. Do not be alarmed when you are sorely tempted. God allows it to test you. He also provides a way out. God is faithful. He will not let you down.

Therefore, when temptation comes, we are to pray earnestly for God’s strength to overcome the temptation and have victory. What is the escape route? It may be from a passage of Scripture that you memorised like  Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

There promise is that we may be able to bear it, to overcome it and have victory. It is the will of God that His people live holy lives for His glory and honour. He therefore enables us by His grace to resist and say “no” to sin. Thank God for His merciful provision. Amen.
