1 Corinthians 12:1-3, Testimony of the Spirit of God
1 Corinthians 12:1-3 (KJV) 1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. 3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
The Apostle Paul speaks now of spiritual gifts. And he brings before the Corinthian Christians the litmus test for the true spiritual gift that is from God. The Spirit of God will always enable the Christian to magnify the Name of Jesus Christ and be subjected to His authority as Lord.
He highlights to the Corinthian Christians their idolatrous past being in bondage to the spirit of evil. And it can be attested how the unbelievers would reject the testimony of His Son, Jesus Christ. There is no fear of God in their hearts, blaspheming Jesus and rejecting that He is the exact representation of God.
John 14:16-17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
But for the genuine Christians, the Holy Spirit will bring the truth to remembrance in their hearts to exalt Christ. Amen.
