1 Corinthians 12:29-31, Covet Earnestly the Best Gifts
1 Corinthians 12:29-31 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
The Apostle Paul’s prayer is that the Christians in Corinth would excel in the best gifts God would endowed them so that the church would be strengthened.
Indeed, MacArthur said well, “God does not intend for everyone to have the same gift, and He does not intend for everyone to have gifts that are out front and noticed. He distributes the offices and the gifts according to His sovereign purpose, “just as He wills” (12:11). The responsibility of believers is to accept the ministries they are given with gratitude and to use them with faithfulness.”¹
The Lord bless His church with unity and progress. Amen.
