1 Corinthians 14:37, Commandments of the Lord
1 Corinthians 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
The Apostle Paul has to make it clear that what he has written are not his own words but they are the very commandments of the Lord. And any persons who claim to be spiritually discerning will certainly acknowledge the truth concerning what he has written.
He seeks to dispel all doubt what he has written concerning women’s conduct in the church is of the Lord. These are not his own prejudices. These matters are not Paul’s private view; they are the commandments of the Lord. [William MacDonald]
May God’s people take hold of the instructions of God’s Word with fear, reverence and obedience. Amen.
