1 Corinthians 15:3-4, He Rose Again The Third Day
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Christ died and was buried and rose from the dead the third day. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead marks the greatest event in human history. Death was conquered when Christ rose from the dead. It was a historical event, the third day after Jesus died, He rose from the dead. By that power of the resurrection, the bondage of sin was broken.
The prophet Isaiah predicted this 600 years earlier when he wrote in Isaiah 53:9-11 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Also, fulfilling the written words of Psalm 16:9-10 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
By this gospel, we can be saved. Amen.
