1 Corinthians 15:21-23, Christ the Firstfruits

1 Corinthians 15:21-23 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.

The first fruits will be an indicator of the quality of the harvest to come. Because Jesus rose from the dead, He is described as the firstfruits of the bumper harvest of the souls of believers that will be raised from the dead and given a glorified body like that of Jesus after His resurrection from the dead. This will take place when Jesus Christ returns. I believe that Jesus’ coming again is soon. The church needs to be ready.

This is the believer’s blessed hope that there is a glorious future for all who trust in Jesus Christ. He will be given an immortal, glorious body that will live forever to enjoy a newly created heaven and earth after this current heaven and earth is destroyed by the judgment of God.
