1 Corinthians 15:58, Be Ye Steadfast
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
We live in a world where the line of truth is blurred and men call good evil and evil good. A time likened to the days before God sent the global flood to destroy the known world wherein Noah and his family of 8 were saved when they got into the ark before the rain came.
A time before fire and brimstone rained upon Sodom and Gomorrah when two angels came and ushered Lot and his family to safety, when Lot’s wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. A precarious time, the silence before the storm.
The people of God whilst awaiting their change to come at Christ’s return is exhorted to be “steadfast”. It comes from the word “seat, chair”. It has the meaning settled, steady and steadfast.
Psalm 125:1 A Song of degrees. They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.
“Unmovable” means “not move away”. They are to keep faith and serve Him. Amen.
