2 Corinthians 2:17, As of Sincerity

2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

The testimony of the gospel team led by the Apostle Paul went about their mission work with sincerity of heart, preaching the gospel in the fear of God. They were mindful of the spiritual mandate placed upon them and were careful to speak the truth according to the Word of God. Venturing not to speak beyond what the Word of God says, they stood behind the Word of God.

Indeed, there were many who spoke their own words, corrupting the word of God but for the Apostle Paul, he was careful to let God’s Word speak as one late pastor said, “I am not the author, I am not the editor, I am the newspaper boy.” And the subject of his preaching was Christ and Him crucified. He does so by the grace of God in the strength of what Christ imparts to him.
