Recounting with Thanksgiving

 It is with thanksgiving that we recount God’s blessings for the year of grace 2017:

 

(a) 1 January 2017

Thank God for the second year in which the 365-Day Andrew Murray Devotional Bible was encouraged for use among members and friends. Seven have completed with certificates of completion in the form of bookmarks given out in October 2017.

(b) 7 January 2017

Youth Fellowship’s 2nd Anniversary was commemorated with the message “Remember Now Thy Creator in the Days of Thy Youth.”

(c) 15 January 2017

Blessed Hope Mobile Library was launched for members and friends to borrow books. An initial collection of 50 books was available for loan. 1 Timothy 4:13a “Till I come, give attendance to reading”.

(d)  22 January 2017

BHBPC’s Third Anniversary Thanksgiving Service. Theme: Steadfast, Unmovable and Always Abounding (1 Corinthians 15:51-58). Thank God for gathering His people to remember the Lord’s goodness toward His church. Rev Dr Tow Siang Hwa, our Pastoral Advisor, sent his greetings to members and friends.

 

(e) 5 February 2017

Update of BHBPC mobile app with added app features including daily KJV Bible Text and Reading Plan, Devotions, Weekly Newsletter, Sermons Podcast, You-tube videos, Facebook, Website, “Music” tab that plays hymns on selection and prayer requests may be sent via the “Prayer Request” tab.

 

(f) 19 March 2017

Transfer of membership for Alan Wong. Infant baptism for Keira Qurui Mudeliar, the daughter of Naveen and Shiyi Mudeliar (Mr and Mrs Mudeliar).

 

(g) 21 March 2017

Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting devotional series for 41 weeks on the Book of Ecclesiastes – Remember Now Thy Creator ended on 15 March. A new series “Balm for the Weary” based on the Book of Psalms was started.

 

(g) 26 March 2017

BHBPC’s Third Annual Congregational Meeting was held after worship service. Praise God for a blessed meeting.

(h) 16 April 2017

Blessed Easter Sunrise Service was held at Gardens by the Bay. Thank God for good weather.

(i) 14 – 17 June 2017

Thank God for 70 campers gathered for our 4th Annual Family Bible Camp at the Pan Pacific Hotel Singapore. Theme: The Making of a Spiritual Man.

(j) 3 September 2017

A Gospel Rally was held to reach out to loved ones, friends and those staying in the neighbourhood of the church. Thank God for 7 new visitors. The theme “The Meaning of Life” (John 1:1-4).

(k) 28 October 2017

Commemoration of the 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation – Meaning and Significance was held on the Saturday from 4 pm to 6 pm. Invited Speaker: Rev Dr Jeffrey Khoo. A CD of hymns on piano and other Reformation literature were distributed.

(l) 5 November 2017

Lord’s Day Sermon series on the Acts of the Apostles ended on 22 October. A new series on the Lord’s Prayer was started.

 

(m) 22 December 2017

Thank God for gathering 43 members and friends for Family Day 2017 at the Rasa Sentosa Resort. The theme of our retreat was “Strengthening Our Devotional Life”. The launch of the 365 Days Devotional book on Proverbs – Go for the Life that Wins by Denis Gibson for 2018.

 

(n) 24 December 2017

Christmas Praise Service was held on the Lord’s Day. Message Title: “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” (Matthew 1:18-25, 2:1-11). A CD of Christmas hymns on piano was distributed.

 

(o) 31 December 2017

Year-end Service was held on the Lord’s Day. Message Title: “Thine Is the Kingdom, Power and Glory Forever” (Matthew 6:13) Lord’s Supper was served.

 

Thank God for His great grace for the year 2017. May the LORD lead us to do His bidding in the New Year of grace 2018. Amen.
