Lord’s Day, Vol. 6 No. 28
Devotion and Updates
We have begun studying the book of Proverbs both in our daily devotional guide and Lord’s Day sermon since the beginning of the year. Crossing the mid-point of the year, we are into July and racing towards the end of the year, I encourage you to take time for a spiritual stock-take. How are you faring in your spiritual walk? I pray that you are appropriating God’s Word for daily spiritual sustenance, guidance and strength. Unless we take time to read and meditate upon the Bible and pray daily, our spiritual growth will be stunted. I encourage you to press on, seeking to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. (Matt. 5:6 KJV)
It is my prayer that you are appropriating sumptuous spiritual meals daily. Taking time, setting aside time for Bible Study and prayer. We shall soon begin a new series of messages for Prayer Meeting entitled “Balm for the Weary”.
I urge you to make time to attend Prayer Meeting (Every Wednesday 8pm, Praise Chapel).
On the Lord’s Day of 2nd September, we shall be organising our annual Gospel Rally during our 3 pm Service. I urge you to pray and seek to invite unsaved friends and loved ones to this Gospel Rally. Our choir is preparing the hymn “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”. Please pray for them as they prepare. We are in the process of preparing invitation cards. Please pray for the Lord to help.
Please appropriate yourself with gospel tracts which have been prepared for your use. Be a good ambassador for the Lord by giving a tract and speaking a good word of the gospel to someone God will bring your way.
Visitation to share the Gospel
Thank God for leading Marcus Lee to evangelize to his unsaved parents. His mother has come to receive the Lord earlier this year and on 14 July 2018, his father responded to the gospel invitation to receive Jesus Christ as His Lord and Saviour. I was invited to visit his home that evening with the hope of sharing the gospel with Marcus’ father in Mandarin. Praise the Lord for his willingness to listen and his willingness to confess Christ.
9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Rom. 10:9-13 KJV)
This is my second visit to his home. The first visit was more than seven years ago. Marcus’ parents remembered our first meeting. Indeed, it was a very happy and joyous moment for both Marcus and me, most of all, his parents.
10Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.(Lk. 15:10 KJV)
The Lord grant us wisdom to help this newly converted soul.

17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. (Rom. 10:14-18 KJV)
May the Lord bless the preaching of His Word to the glory of His Name. Amen.
Yours lovingly,
Pastor Lek Aik Wee
