2 Corinthians 3:11; Glory of Life with Christ
2 Corinthians 3:11 11For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. (2 Cor. 3:11 KJV)
Life in Christ is glorious. All the ceremonial laws that Israel was commanded to keep were done away in Christ. The Tabernacle or Temple sacrifices abrogated because the work of redemption has been completed in Christ. We look forward to the glory to come at the return of Christ.
2 Thessalonians 4:13-18 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thess. 4:13-18 KJV)
Especially for the church living in the last of the last days, we look forward to that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13). Indeed, the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. He tells us it begins with new birth. God has come to meet with sinful men. God has come to save sinful man. And no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace indeed salvation hath appeared to all men is the good news. There is a way out of the misery of sin. And this salvation comes by the grace of God.
JESUS CHRIST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN HUMAN HISTORY. WE DIVIDE OUR CALENDAR BY HIM – B.C. Before Christ, and A.D. Anno Domini, the year of the Lord. CHRISTIANS DEVOTE THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK TO REMEMBERING HIS RESURRECTION. The day Jesus won heaven for us by His resurrection from the dead, it is the reason why we come for worship every Sunday. Death is the greatest impasse for mankind. Man is born to die. None can escape. TEN OUT OF TEN DIE. But for the Christian, we are born-again to live forever more. This is the Christian hope God wants us to see. It begins when we give our life over to Jesus Christ. When the Christian dies, the Bible says, he is asleep, one day, when Christ returns, he will awake again! For those who are already Christians, may this message rekindle the hope of eternal life in your hearts! When spiritual re-birth begins in us, it gives to us the power to overcome sin. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world.
May the Lord bless our present lives for His glory. Amen.
