2 Corinthians 3:8-12; Use Great Plainness of Speech
2 Corinthians 3:8-12 8How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 9For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. 10For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. 11For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. 12Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: (2 Cor. 3:8-12 KJV)
How can the gospel be plainly explained so that men may understand the things pertaining to the kingdom of God? How can the natural man know spiritual things? The Apostle Paul tells us that God has by His wisdom showed us the plain way by which man can find God. It was through the creation of the nation of Israel. It is God’s earthly example given that we may understand spiritual things, the heavenly and eternal realm.
We notice the epochs in Israel’s history where the supernatural nature of God’s kingdom is manifested. In the Exodus, during the time of prophets Elijah and Elisha and during the time of Christ on earth. The manifestation of the glorious things in the spiritual realm is seen in the earthly realm in the history of the people of Israel. They are recorded in history that men may behold in plainness of speech.
The hope of God’s people is indeed steadfast and sure, it is great. We are called to share that greatness with the world at large so that they too may, by the grace of God, see things in the spiritual realm and find faith. What glorious hope we have and what privilege and responsibility to seek God’s wisdom to present the good case for life with God.
May God us in this New Year to be His unworthy vessels to reveal His glory. May the Lord help us. Amen.
