2 Corinthians 8:16; But Thanks Be to God
2 Corinthians 8:16 But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.
The Apostle Paul was thankful to God that He has put into the heart of Titus a heart to care for the Corinthian Church. A heart that the Apostle Paul can identify with in his care for this church. He termed it as “the same earnest care”. The phrase “earnest care” is one word in Greek that means “diligence, hastiness, earnest”. There is vibrant energy of God’s love that is according to God’s laws and filled with God’s anointing presence. Both Paul and Titus were God’s instrument of care for His people.
Thank God for raising up such a man of faith and fervency for the work of God in Titus. Jesus says to His disciples in Matthew 9:37-38 … The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Jesus also says to His disciples after saving the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4:34-38 My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. 35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. 36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. 37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. 38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
Amen.
