It was the Jews who sold our Lord Jesus to be cucified upon the cross fulfilling the purpose of God for our redemption.
Mark 15:12-15 And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto himwhom ye call the King of the Jews? And they cried out again, Crucify him. Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him. Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his first born.
The Jews were the culprits who refused Him as their Christ, the Messiah promised in the Old Testament Scriptures that came. These are those who pierced Him though it was by the hands of the Roman soldiers.

It was the rejection of the Jews of their Christ that the gospel came to the Gentiles, the non-Jewish world. God has allowed the Jews to be blinded that the gospel might come to the Gentiles as the Apostle Paul explained – Romans 11:30-32 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
The world that is in rebellion against her Creator will recongize Jesus Christ as the King of kings and Lord of lords and submit to His headship ushering in a period of true peace upon earth for a thousand years.
Even so, Amen.
