Revelation 2:11; The Second Death

Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

How important it is that a man has not only physical life but also spiritual life. This life comes when a man repents of his sins and come to Jesus Christ to find forgiveness for all his sins. Such a man who is born twice (physical life and spiritual life) will die once. He will die the physical death but will escape the eternal death or second death, that is, judgment in hellfire. The promise is that the believer who overcomes will not be cast into the lake of fire.

This truth is well presented in Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. 

Indeed, all who belong to Christ will be given the strength to endure every temptation as Jesus promised to those who abide in Him – John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Amen.
