Revelation 2:24-25; Hold Fast
Revelation 2:24-25 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. But that which ye have alreadyhold fast till I come.
Since there is no hope that the corrupt church will repent, the godly in her can only in faithful holding to the truth look for the coming Lord.[1] There are those in Thyatira who were serving God with clean hands and pure hearts. They have not touched the unclean things. They have kept themselves pure from the sins that has so beget so many members of that congregation. These are exhorted to hold fast. The exhortation to those who had not trafficked with Jezebel was “put upon none other burden”. They have not been involved in the “depths of Satan”, the deep sins that Satan is capable to deceive God’s people to commit.
Elijah thought he was the lone soul standing fast and all Israel was capitulating to idolatry and immorality. The Lord said to him in:
1 Kings 19:18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
Be encouraged, there is still faithful remnant in Israel. May the Lord preserved a remnant as His faithful witness. Amen.
