Recounting with Thanksgiving

It is with thanksgiving that we recount God’s blessings for the year of grace 2019:

(a) 2 January 2019

A new series “It Is Well With My Soul” from the Book of Job at Prayer Meeting.

(b) 6 January 2019

Thank God for beginning the Study of Peter’s Epistles – 1 and 2 Peter for the year on the Lord’s Day.

(c) 6 January 2019

Youth Fellowship’s 4^thAnniversary was commemorated with the continuing study of the Book of Nehemiah. 

(d) 27 January 2019

“Launch Out Into the Deep” was the theme for our blessed 5^th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service. The message from  Luke 5:4 – (1) A Ministry of the Word of God (v1-3), (2) A Ministry Supported by the Power of God (v4-9), (3) A Ministry Requiring Wholehearted Consecration to God (v10-11) by Pastor Lek.

(e) 10 February 2019

All praise to our God for the 1^stAnniversary of the Mandarin Gospel Outreach Service with the message “A Heartening Prayer” (Philippians 1:9-11).

(f) 8-9 March 2019

Home-going of our Pastoral Advisor, Rev. Dr. Tow Siang Hwa on 8 March 2019. A vigil service was held at the Jade Room of the Singapore Casket on 9 March 2019. Exhortation taken 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 was given by Pastor Lek.

(g) 31 March 2019

BHBPC’s 5^thAnnual Congregational Meeting was held after worship service with an exhortation from 1 Corinthians15:51-58that the church may be kept spiritually strong through worship according to His Word and prayer.

(h) 21 April 2019

The 2^ndSunrise Service held at the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club. The message was taken from Jesus Lives! was taken from John 20:1-18.

(i) 12 May 2019

Asher Yuze Mudeliar (son of Naveen and Shiyi, Mr. and Mrs. Naveen Mudeliar) was baptized as an infant. Ho Thi Thu Thao transferred her membership to BHBPC.

(j) 19-22 June 2019

BHBPC’s 6^thFamily Bible Camp with the theme “Israel in Prophecy”, was held at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel. 61 attended the camp.

(k) 22-26 June 2019

Home-going of Mr. Tan Kay Guan on 22 June 2019. Vigil Services held on 24-26 June. 

(l) 25-26 July 2019

Vigil Services for Maisy Kok Hsueh Ni (daughter of Mdm. Kwan Woon Chun and mother of Mr. Horatio Kok) who went home to be with the Lord on 24 July 2019. 

(m) 15 September 2019

A Gospel Rally with the theme “Peace with God” (Romans 5:1) was held during Lord’s Day Service at 3 pm. 

(n)  26 September 2019

Baptism of Mr. Tang Kok Kwan (husband of Mdm Peh Choo Pun and father of Jonathan Tang Meng Wei) who suffered a stroke on 13 September.

(o) 26-28 October 2019

Home-going of Mr. Tang Kok Kwan (husband of Mdm. Peh Choo Pun and father of Mr. Jonathan Tang Meng Wei) on 26 October 2019. Vigil Services were held on 27-28 October 2019.

(p) 7 December 2019

Thank God for a blessed Family Day at Hotel Fort Canning. The theme was “How to Study the Bible?”.  A tour was organised to the Fort Canning Centre for “The Bicentennial Experience” – From Singapore to Singaporean: The Bicentennial Experience.

(q) 24 December 2019

Christmas Praise Service was held at 7.30pm in the Worship Centre with the message “Glory to God in the Highest” (Luke 2:1-21; Micah 5:2).

(r) 28 December 2019

Planner for 2019 was received and distributed.

(s) 29 December 2019

A Baptismal Service was conducted. Child baptism for Mr. Horatio Kok Lincoln, Adult baptism for Mdm. Foo Voon Chin (Mrs Boon) and Mdm. Kwan Woon Chun. Reaffirmation of faith for Mdm. Koh Swee Suan, Mr. Jovan Tang Xiang You and Miss Janelle Tang Xuan Ting.

Watch Night Service with the year-end message “Hasting to Christ’s Coming” (2 Peter 3:10-18) – (1)In Hope (v13), (2) In Purity (v11, 14b), (3) In Peace (v14).
