Revelation 3:10; A Pillar In the Temple of My God
Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
Believers in this church will be honoured. They will be pillars perhaps alluding to the custom in Philadelphia of honouring a magistrate or philanthropist by placing a great pillar with his name inscribed on it in one of the temples. A pillar is stable, permanent, immovable, continuance, a description of honour. A place where there is permanence, eternal and secure.
Believers will be so honoured in the temple of God which is heaven, the glorious dwelling place of God, and permanently – “and he shall not go out.”
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
