Revelation 5:11-14; Priests and Kings

It’s interesting to note that we are called priests and kings. That is how we conclude the 24 elders in chapter 4 with their white garments and crowns must refer to the saints. They are priests because they can approach God directly through the merits of Jesus, finished work on the cross. They can offer sacrifices to God directly. And they shall reign on earth.  This is an important truth that will be fulfilled in the millennium when Jesus established  His 1000 years rule on earth.

Indeed, Jesus is worthy of all our adoration and homage for His alone is our Creator, Sustainer and Saviour. They sang a new song, a fresh utterance of praise from grateful hearts.

Revelation 5:11-14 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 13And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, beunto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 14And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

The 7 fold words of praise to  Christ is well articulated by the redeemed in heaven –

(1) power (2) wisdom (3) riches (4) strength (5) honour (6) glory (7) blessing.

This He gives to the redeemed in no small way while they were on earth and having experienced the fullness of God’s bestowment on them. They gave all these back to Him in grateful adoration. Amen.
