Revelation 8:7; Third Part of Trees Burnt Up

Revelation 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. 

The trees provided fruit and herb for the nourishment of man and animals. It provides oxygen and shade. It has also a therapeutic effect upon man when he beholds the green trees and the lush green pastures.

Here is put on record that such blessings will be nearly all removed from the earth by hail and fire from heaven suddenly. The PSI (Pollutant Standards Index) will reach a crisis level.

I recall several years ago when the PSI hit the hazardous level of more than 400, schools were closed in Singapore. Many families install air purifiers at home to protect the lungs from being overwhelmed by the pollutants.

Rev. 8:7 records a time where it is near impossible to hide. Fear would be everywhere and the sky would be covered with dark smoke from the burning.

The church has been raptured. The dwellers on earth would face a period of unprecedented suffering. Is there no escape from such a Great Tribulation?

There is! When we would repent of our sins and receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

This is our blessed hope as believers all over the world await the soon return of Christ. Amen.
