Revelation 9:6; Men Seek Death and Shall Not Find It
Revelation 9:6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
There was no escape from the sting of the locusts for the unbelieving. The torment shall be so great. Feinberg observed well, “Suicide will be impossible. There will be no rest of heart or peace of mind.”
The pain that will come to the inhabitants on earth at that time was meant to jolt them to repentance that they may turn to God.
Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Indeed, the seal of the Holy Spirit will be the cure to the torment of the locust when men come to God through Christ.
Hebrews 10:29-30 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
When God acts to avenge His people who were sorely persecuted, He will also be merciful to the persecutors that they too may turn from their wicked ways and come to Him.
Thank God for His great mercy even to the unbelieving world. His love is so great even towards the rebellious that they may turn to Him. Amen.
