Revelation 16:5-6; Thou Art Righteous
Revelation 16:5-6 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
The sign of the water supplies and seas on earth turning into blood was a sign of retribution for shedding the blood of the saints. God is not unmindful of the cry of His people and He certainly will act to judge justly.
He gives opportunities for repentance, our Lord is longsuffering and patient to the unrepentant that they might repent. But a time will come when there will be time no longer.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
His saints are called to endure as God mete out true justice. Indeed, all wrong will be justly righted! What should be the response of the saints to the injustice suffered for Christ’s sake?
Observe this the psalmist’s prayer – Psalm 86:11-17 Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. For great isthy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent menhave sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them. But thou, O Lord, arta God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid. Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me.
God will certainly be there for His people. This text is proof that God is still on the throne and He remembers His own.
