Romans 2:7 Walking with God
Romans 2:7 (KJV) To them who by patient continuance in well-doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
The “well-doing” literally means “good works or toil in an occupation” as Noah did when he obeyed the commandment of God to build the ark to the saving of his family and the transition to a new world after the global flood. Noah trusted God and persevered in building the ark when there was no rain. Undeterred by mockers and scoffers, he preached of the coming judgment with the ark as a living testimony of the vessel of safety and judgment!
Hebrews 11:7 (KJV) By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Abraham left his country to sojourn in the strange land in obedience to the call of God sought for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God (Hebrews 11:10). He desired a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath prepared for them a city (Hebrews 11:16). He sojourned as pilgrims, temporary dwellers, on earth.
The glory of heaven, the approval of God and an eternal resurrection body are the hope and motivations of the saints who completed their course of life, walking with God, doing the will of God.
Likewise for the church today, we are called to fulfil the Great Commission, sharing the gospel of Christ and His crucifixion. For therein is the secret of eternal life, sins are forgiven when sins are repented, life with God now and forevermore in Christ.
Let God’s people be courageous to walk with God, obey His commandments for His honour and glory, thereby be His witness! Amen.
