John 1:4 In Him Was Life

John 1:4 (KJV)  In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Word of God that existed in the beginning of no beginning. He is God. By Him the universe was created.

John 1:3 (KJV)  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 

The “all things” that our Lord Jesus made incuded man, gloriously created on the sixth day, in the image of God. He breathed life into every living creature, He gave us life.

This life and that relationship with Him, He described as light. Since the fall, since man fell into sin, darkness engulfed him.

To save fallen man, Jesus entered human history, born as a man, to save fallen man.

John 1:5 (KJV)  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 

All who come to Jesus, the Light, will be freed from the bondage of sin (darkness) and escape the judgment of sin which is not only physical death but more fearsome, eternal death.

John 1:9-13 (KJV)  That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 

May the Name of Jesus be proclaimed far and wide so that all men may be saved. Amen.
