Isaiah 51:3 The LORD Shall Comfort

Isaiah 51:3 (KJV)  For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody. 

Zion refers to the people of God, the church. Where God is present with His people, the wilderness will be turned to Eden, the desert like the garden of the LORD.

There will be great rejoicing. God’s care for His people is marvellous. God’s people experiencing comfort when God was with them. Without Him is desolation and despair and dejection.

With Him, there is thanksgiving and there is the voice of praise sounding forth always. All praise and thanks to God. He does not forsake His people. Rather He is at hand for them.

How much we need to thank the Lord. May the Lord bless our devotion. Amen.
