Psalm 73:23-26 God Is the Strength of My Heart
Psalm 73:23-26 (KJV) Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. 24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. 25 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. 26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
The presence of God imparts strength to us. He strengthens our hearts when we are weak, when our strength fail. The Lord does so by His assurance given by the prompting of the Holy Spirit to still our hearts from the myraid of fears that plague our hearts through the promises of God’s Word.
God’s presence entails a shepherding that leads us along as we give Him our right hand of trust to hold and to follow. God’s counsel comes to us through the dispensing of His Word. The soul is able to feel the comfort and assurance with the wisdom of God’s guidence given to instruct us.
Such supernatural presence of God’s life in us is most amazing. The psalmist extols that there is no help so available and availing as God’s help. He rejoices understanding his privilege position and his future glory in the Lord. This communion that begins here on earth will be culminated in glory forever. Amen.
