Psalm 31:7 In Thy Mercy
Psalm 31:7 (KJV) I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;
There is gladness and rejoicing in the heart of the psalmist because of God’s mercy experienced. It is a response from experience for the LORD has considered his trouble. What great straits he was learned to wait upon Him. He learned to trust Him, look to Him, hope in Him, and found Him faithful.
He testified that the LORD has known his soul in distress. God’s mercy speaks of His goodness, kindness, and faithfulness. The LORD rescued him in his adversity. He was not easily forgetting what God has done for Him. Rather, he remembers it and testified it and rejoices in it.
What comfort and consolation. What encouragement that we ought to resort to Him whatever our predicament. He is able indeed to help.
May the LORD’s people call upon Him. Amen.
