Psalm 119:27 Make Me to Understand
Psalm 119:27 (KJV) Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.
This is a prayer and a plea to the Lord for understanding. The psalmist sought to understand the way of God’s precepts – directions, orders, instructions.
Without an understanding of God’s ways and His workings, how can we even talk of it? There is a disconnect. We are instructed to the ways of God by the aid of the Spirit of God.
1 Corinthians 2:12-13 (KJV) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
This comes through waiting upon the Lord that the Spirit of God might illumine our hearts to know the truth, therein, enabling us to understand why and how God acts. That we may praise and give glory to Him when we understand and see it.
What a privilege to be an ambassador for the Lord. Amen.
