Psalm 46:10-11 Be Still and Know That I Am God

Psalm 46:10-11 (KJV)  Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

What assurance from God Himself to cause us to be still before Him. He is still on the throne! And He remembers His own.

The situation seemed precarious as the psalmist saw with his eyes – Psalm 46:2-3 (KJV)  Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

We are reminded in Psalm 46:1 (KJV)  To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

There is a place of rest with God that He appointed for His people, let us appropriate it with full communion –  Psalm 46:4-5 (KJV)  There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

Truly, His timing is perfect, we can trust Him – Psalm 46:6 (KJV)  The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

Let us therefore, cast our care upon Him and wait upon Him. Amen.
