Psalm 125:1-2 Faith and God’s Faithfulness

Psalm 125:1-2 (KJV)  A Song of degrees. They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.

The people of God who trust in their LORD are well protected by Him. The city of Jerusalem and Mount Zion and the mountains surrounding Jerusalem is where God has put the stamp of His presence. This analogy portrays stability and security.

And there is an eternal stamp placed upon that stability and security. This is who God is to His people who trust in Him and seek to follow Him come what may! This is quite remarkable because it requires faith to trust in the invisible God. But the analogy helps us to see with our mind’s eye an inkling of semblance to the infinite security and stability of life with God.

May the Lord grant His people to see the fullness of God’s care for us. Amen.
