Proverbs 30:5 A Trusted Word
Proverbs 30:5 (KJV) Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
The Word of God is to be received by faith and to be upheld by faith. The results of it are well testified. It is security and protection to its embracer. The word “pure” means “to refine, to test”. It is able to withstand the heat of the refiner’s fire and the test that it is set to undergo. It will certainly prove its worth. A most reliable and dependable Word.
This is because it is the Word of God. The divine imprimatur is upon it. Infinite wisdom, power, and holiness, justice, goodness, and truth undergird to ensure its worth.
Let us read it, meditate upon and commit to obey and follow its precepts singlemindedly for our singular well-being. This was the Word that instructed Noah to build the ark, the mother of Moses to build the little ark to float the baby Moses from Pharoah’s sword, the word that gave Daniel the courage in the lion’s den.
Thank God for His Word, which is indeed a shield against onslaughts of the world. Amen.
