1 Thessalonians 5:23 Sanctified and Preserved Blameless
1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV) And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God’s peace comes through the reconciliatory work of Christ when the believer repents of his or her sins and turns to God. The work of sanctification comes through trials and temptations in the believer’s life. It is a purifying work that reveals more and more the divine image of Christ in us. The Apostle Paul instructs the believers on the wherewithal of it all in the preceding verses.
The Lord’s coming is the culminating moment of joy for the faithful. And life now is geared toward that joyful day of the Lord.
Revelation 22:12-13 (KJV) And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
1 Thessalonians 5:24 (KJV) Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. Amen.
