Ephesians 6:10-11 Be Strong In the Lord

Ephesians 6:10-11 (KJV)  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

The prophet Isaiah said well the sense of this text in Isaiah 40:28-31 (KJV)  28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

In spiritual warfare, the weapons are not carnal but spiritual, mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). The believer puts on the whole armour of God and is therefore protected and energized by the Spirit of God against the wiles of the devil.

Is anything too hard for the Lord? Our family troubles, cares, and needs are not beyond the power and wisdom of our heavenly Father. Let us not despair, but in faith cast our burden upon Him. [Spurgeon]

Amen.
