Psalm 9:1-2 Crescendo of Praises
Psalm 9:1-2 (KJV) To the chief Musician upon Muth-labben, A Psalm of David. I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
The psalmist extols the vibrant personal relationship that he has with the LORD, his God. It was a relationship he has full confidence to build upon for he declares that he did so with his whole heart. And this relationship has flourished in his life and has borne fruit.
The fruit of his life with God was the marvelous workings of God in his life. He guarded his relationship with his LORD against many attempts to weaken and nullify it. They were to no avail. He, therefore, was glad and rejoiced in the LORD his God.
The rejoicing breaks forth happily with singing for all the attributes of God are known by His Name. They are true to Who He is and how He manifests Himself to the psalmist to rescue and deliver him. His praise in song, therefore, reaches a fitting climax, filling his heart with great joy and faith to keep close to Him. Amen.
