John 15:9 Continue Ye In My Love
John 15:9 (KJV) As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
The Father’s love for the Son is well articulated by Solomon in Proverbs 8:30-31 (KJV) Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
That same love Jesus showed to us in His earthly sojourn. The Apostle Paul described well the love of Christ for the church in Ephesians 3:17-19 (KJV) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Most assuredly Christ obeyed the will of the Father to win our redemption – Psalm 22:7-8 (KJV) All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
All praise to God that because Christ endured, we too have the victory when He said in John 16:33 (KJV) These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Amen.
