Proverbs 4:20-22 Recipe for Life and Health
Proverbs 4:20-22 (KJV) My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
A neglected Bible is the sad proof of a heart cold towards God. The Bible, the book of human experience helps us to make a right way.
The last word of the Old Testament is the word “cursed”. And the first word of Jesus when He began His ministry teaching in the Sermon on the Mount is the word “blessed”.
Matthew 5:3-12 (KJV) 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
A healthy thought life guided and guarded by God’s wisdom brings life and health to a person, here is a description of the prosperity of the soul.
When God gave His laws to the nation of Israel, these were laws that help to strengthen and bless the nation. It covers all aspects of their national life. In fact, the law that we inherited in Singapore has its origin from God’s law.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
