Psalm 25:5 Divine Instruction and Guidance
Psalm 25:5 (KJV) Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
The psalmist needed help to guide his life and he acknowledged that it comes from God’s truth. He therefore in prayer seeking the Lord to show him the way. There is an intensity within himself seeking the Lord, this is seen in the verb “wait”. He is willing to do just this one thing, even to wait all day, till he knows the will of the Lord.
To be led to the truth requires that the believer opens to the Word and takes time to meditate upon it. It is thus that he is led to the truth when the Spirit of God illumines his heart to take hold of His Word and instruct him.
What a blessing for this the psalmist acknowledged is his salvation. And Scripture points us to Christ who is Word, made flesh, dwelt among men, lived wholly in obedience to the truth of God’s Word, brought as a living sacrifice for the sins of men.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV)
Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead the third day, to conquer sin and death on our behalf. All who come to Him as the psalmist will find forgiveness of sins and guidance for life. Amen.
