Proverbs 8:17-19 Seek Him in All Thy Ways
Proverbs 8:17-19 (KJV) I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
When a man veers from God, he loses bearing for life. He is set to suffer losses. A man may begin well in the journey of life with God. But he can be sidestepped along the way. How important it is that we continue to walk with God. This is the safest, most protected and most prosperous way. As the psalmist of old would say, “They shall prosper that love Thee”.
So our Lord Jesus rightly says “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matt. 6:33)
Without God’s approval and help, we are doomed to failure before we even start. Solomon, the writer of Proverbs, began well. But he veered off in that journey. He wrote a book of reflection called Ecclesiastes to share his woes that we may not veer off like he did and paid a heavy price.
God wants His people to be successful in all that they do which is a fruit of righteousness. And we can have success in our endeavour if we follow God’s law of life, and live the way He wants us to and do as He teaches us to do. And we can have success when we turn to the Bible, God’s laws to find the way to fulfil our plans and to overcome whatever obstacles that seemed to hold us down.
May the Lord help His people. Amen.
