Ephesians 4:30 Grieve Not the Holy Spirit of God
Ephesians 4:30 (KJV) And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
The Holy Spirit indwells the believer in the new birth. The Holy Spirit grieves when the believer sins against God. The Holy Spirit is holy. When the believer willfully sins, the word “grieve” means “to cause pain, make sad, offend”.
1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
The believer is exhorted in 1 Corinthians 6:20 (KJV) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
The believer is exhorted in 1 Corinthians 15:34 (KJV) Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
May the Lord sanctify His people. Amen.
