Psalm 44:26 Arise For Our Help

Psalm 44:26 (KJV)  Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies’ sake. 

Has there been a time when we ask for help and there seemed to be no help forthcoming? When we rely upon our own strength, we are bound to be disappointed.

For the people of God, let us seek our God – Psalm 20:7 (KJV)  Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. 

Indeed, for the psalmist, the circumstances have been most trying, as he pleaded – Psalm 44:24-25 (KJV)  Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression? For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth. 

Our trials may press us greatly to the breakpoint yet we know that God’s mercy ensures that we will be sustained.

This was the psalmist’s confidence and our confidence too. Amen.
